Privacy Policy
Covering BookClub and Blog on Root — and any future apps published under this policy.
Effective July 22, 2026
Scope
These apps are independent, personal projects — they are not affiliated with or officially endorsed by Root, and nothing in this policy represents Root or speaks on Root's behalf. Your Root account itself is managed by the Root platform and covered by Root's own privacy policy, not this one.
Information Received
These apps receive basic platform context from Root needed to operate — such as your platform user ID, nickname, profile picture, and online status — plus any content you create within the app itself (for example, a BookClub post or reading list, or a Blog post or comment). These apps do not request your email address, phone number, location, or device permissions, and do not collect anything beyond what Root's platform provides plus what you actively create inside the app.
How Information Is Used
Information is used solely to operate the app's features — for example, showing your posts or lists to other members of the community as the app is designed to do. It is not used for advertising or profiling. These apps do not contain analytics or advertising SDKs.
Storage Location
All app data is stored within Root's own platform infrastructure. These apps do not operate independent servers or databases outside of Root — nothing is copied to, or stored on, systems controlled by the developer.
Third-Party Sharing
Your information is not shared with any third party, and is not sold. Content you post within an app may be visible to other members of the community per that app's normal function — that visibility is the app doing what it's designed to do, not third-party sharing.
Data Retention
Data persists for as long as your content or account remains in Root's systems. If you'd like something specific deleted, contact the developer below — content already stored in Root's own systems is governed by Root's retention rules, not this one.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections through Root's infrastructure. These apps do not add any additional storage or transmission layer outside of what Root itself provides.
Children's Privacy
These apps are not directed at children and are not intended for use by anyone under 16, matching Root's own platform minimum age requirement.
